    Listing id: 47956

Croydon Model Railway club was formed in 1982 with its clubrooms originally in Croydon. In 1985 the club moved to its present premises beneath Chirnside Park Shopping Centre. With our own clubroom, there are plenty of activities in which the members can get involved. Whatever their interest in modelling, there is plenty of scope for them. At the club’s Chirnside premises there is a test track facility for members use. The tracks on it include HO, Hon3 and N, all of which are in the shape of a large oval. In the centre of this oval there are other gauges laid in a straight-line format, such as O gauge.  Prospective members and visitors are always welcome at the clubroom. If you would like any further information about the club and its activities, please visit the Contact Us page of this website.

  • Melb-N-Trak —- Visited: 329 Times

    Heidelberg

    Listing id: 27827

MelbNtrak was founded in September 1988 by six fellows who wanted to further their enjoyment in N Scale model trains. Over the years many N Trak modules were constructed by members to the American N Trak standards. The club and its members have exhibited the club and members modules at most of the major Melbourne exhibitions and also visited many Victorian country towns to participate in regional train shows. Along the way the club has received many awards for it layouts and along the way added to its membership list. In mid 2009 due to decisions made entirely outside of the clubs control the council in charge of the area in which we had our most recent club rooms told us to vacate the premises. Without any new club rooms being available the club has had to take the tough step to dispose of all of its assets. It no longer has any modules with which to participate in any future exhibitions. However the club is continuing to operate as a club and this year we are celebrating our 21st year. Members now meet at various members homes and other locations on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday night each month.

  • Murray Railway Modellers Inc. —- Visited: 100 Times

    Wodonga

    Listing id: 47686

The Murray Railway Modellers Inc. was born out of a train show in May 2008. The group’s aims are to enjoy the hobby and social activities and to promote the great hobby of model railways within the community. Membership is open to anyone that shares our aims. We are currently working on a modular HO layout. Members own their module or modules while the Club owns the corner sections. We have also purchased an extensive HO layout, “Murranbilla” from The Eltham Model Railway Club. A N scale layout is currently under construction.

At the beginning of 2012 The Murray Railway Modellers were invited by the volunteers at the Old Telegraph Office in the historical gold mining town of Beechworth Victoria to build a model of the Beechworth railway station and yard which closed in 1977. Our members agreed and have installed the model in a special room at the Telegraph Office. The Murray Railway Modellers meet every Wednesday night at the new club room at the Wodonga Showground just off Wilson Street. The start time is 7:00pm. We have members interested in N, HO, H0n2½, S, O and G gauges. New members are always welcome.

  • The Steam Locomotive Society of Victoria —- Visited: 161 Times

    Moorabbin

    Listing id: 47959

The Steam Locomotive Society of Victoria is a model engineering society, focused primarily on the building and operation of miniature live steam and electric locomotives and rollingstock.  Our club had its beginnings in the 1940’s as the “Surrey Hills Live Steamers” at the home of Stan Milligan of that suburb with monthly visits to various other member’s small home tracks scattered around a number of Melbourne locations; even as far away as Geelong and Ballarat.  Seeking a more-permanent home with a larger area suitable for extended running, and after much searching, the site on filled land at Rowans Road, Moorabbin was secured and is now leased from the City of Kingston. Membership is very broad, with people from all walks of life being represented and, whilst a number are retired, there are quite a few currently working and several younger members. New members are welcome and do not need to own a locomotive; there is plenty to interest newcomers.
